Gourmade Cheese and Bacon Macaroni (Serves 2)


What makes a really good Mac Cheese? It is always the sauce. This sauce recipe I learnt from my mother (who learnt it from her mother, a domestic science teacher, who learnt it from her’s!). A truly perfect bechamel sauce is a painstaking process. So much so, in my mother’s family, it earnt the name ‘tedious sauce’! Hence our Mac Cheese and Bacon is a firm favourite among many. It is packed with mature cheddar, smoked bacon and sweet cherry tomatoes in our rich and creamy béchamel sauce. It’s melted cheese, the perfect pasta and tasty bacon, what more could you want?…enjoy!


Serves 2 – 700g
Milk, Cooked Pasta (25%) [Durum Wheat Semolina, Water], Mature Cheddar Cheese (Milk) (18%), Whipping Cream (Milk), Cherry Tomatoes, Cooked Smoked Streaky Bacon (4%) [Pork Belly, Salt, Antioxidant (Sodium Ascorbate), Preservative (Sodium Nitrite)], Water, Unsalted Butter (Milk), White Bread Rusk [Wheat Flour (contains Calcium carbonate, Iron, Niacin and Thiamin), Water, Salt, Yeast], Italian Style Hard Cheese (Milk), Corn Flour, Rosemary, Garlic Puree, Mustard Powder, Salt, Ground Pepper, Paprika, Ground Bay, Ground Nutmeg.
